Dr. Jennifer Walden, Cosmetic Surgeon And Media Personality, Returns To Her Austin Roots

At just 44 years of age, Dr. Jennifer Walden has had an astonishingly accomplished life, with a career in cosmetic surgery which has earned her a space in Harper’s Bazaar magazine’s 24 best beauty surgeons in the country. She has made several television appearances and has been featured in national magazines. Plus, she is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, an achievement few female cosmetic surgeons have earned.

But Jennifer Walden is a true Texan at heart, and she has recently moved her practice to her hometown of Austin. Despite her success as a beauty surgeon in the heart of beauty-obsessed New York City, Jennifer longed for the comforts of her home and her supportive family.

Raised in Austin, Texas, Jennifer’s parents both worked in the medical field; her father was a dentist, and her mother a surgical nurse. Her parents passed onto Jennifer a strong work ethic, and deeply encouraged her education. From an early age, Jennifer was inspired by her mother, who managed to make juggling a demanding job and a family seem effortless.

Jennifer received her bachelor’s degree at the University of Texas at Austin and was accepted into medical school. She graduated as Salutatorian of her class, and was quickly accepted into the plastic surgery program at UT Galveston. From there, Jennifer was accepted into the prestigious and exclusive aesthetic surgery fellowship program at the Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital.

By now, Jennifer had developed a love affair with Manhattan and chose to open up her own practice there. She had developed a strong passion for cosmetic surgery, believing that helping women look their best is deeply rewarding. At this practice, she developed several advanced cosmetic surgery techniques using new technology.

Perhaps she would still be practicing in Manhattan if it had not been for the birth of her twin sons. As a new mother, Jennifer’s priorities shifted, and she was determined to raise her sons in the same strong family environment in which she had been raised. She returned to Austin shortly after their birth in 2010.

Jennifer believes the secret to her success is simple: hard work and determination. She believes in “making things happen.” An inspiration to all career-minded women, Jennifer says that women require a strong family support system in order to “have it all.” Back home in Austin, Jennifer is surrounded once again by the support system which got her to where she is today.
